PROTECT McGOUGH NATURE PARK!
|
McGough Nature Park is a vital community hub for non-releasable wildlife, environmental education, and a peaceful green space.
However, its future could be in serious jeopardy. On November 3, 2026, Florida voters will decide on Amendment 3. While it is framed as a property tax reduction, the real-world consequences to our municipal budget could be devastating. Property taxes generate over half of Largo’s general fund, which is the core funding source that directly sustains our local emergency services, city operations, public libraries, and nature parks. |
If Amendment 3 passes, local municipal revenues across Pinellas County will face millions in mandatory cuts. Because public safety and core municipal operations receive primary budget priority, non-mandated community resources (like McGough Nature Park) face direct risk of reduced operating hours, severe budget cuts, or complete closure.
Our wildlife sanctuary, public nature trails, and hands-on environmental education programs rely on municipal funding to remain open and accessible to families.

We love what we do. Supporting the parks, the Bird of Prey Program, the educational outreach, and everything in between... is our labor of love.
We do this for you, and want to keep doing what we do for years to come.
